Time the law is changed and the terms rape and sexual assault get dumped. Assault is assault however it's done. Wouldn't get rid of all the barriers but it's a start
Rape is different from sexual assault. We need sexual assault laws so if someone touches a boob for example he can get prosecuted. If someone is raped that is far more serious. I hate it when they refer to rape cases as sexual assault.
It's up to the judge to decide the severity based on the evidence. The 'descriptive' labels really have nothing to do with it in the social forum and help keep negative/harmful stereotypes going imo. Why should women have to deal with a rape label when assault gives far more privacy?
