I don’t even know what to do with this information…
In total, from 2017 through 2023, 2,682 people with developmental disabilities died under the care of the state of Missouri — on average, one person every day. https://missouriindependent.com/2025/02/24/developmentally-disabled-missourians-suffer-abuse-death-in-states-dysfunctional-system/

Who are we, anymore?
It’s really scary to know that you can’t trust these organizations.
A system meant to provide care should not be a daily death sentence.
How many of these could have been prevented?
Missouri must be held accountable, and real reform is overdue.
We can’t ignore this—these lives mattered.
Don't you?
Creating/changing legislature to limit lifespans & finances of anyone (1000x more so if you're poor) who ISN'T a non-disabled, non-elderly, white "Christian".
Disabled people don't fit in with their pristine view of Aryan perfection. In their diseased minds, they deserve to die.
😔
I think we all knew the red states were medieval, but this is in front of the eyes of state and federal programs this is happening.
😁
And the future doesn’t look good for other women who may be in the same situation.
Unless we can get the Christian Nazis to confine their beliefs to the church. 😁
They don't want to help anyone, they just want to control everyone.
Malnutrition, or poor nutrition is a common cause of death among people with developmental disabilities.
This needs to be reported to the state authorities - the feds are in disarray at the moment.
It cannot be ignored.
Devastating
the study of how to arrange reproduction within a human population to increase the occurrence of heritable characteristics regarded as desirable. Eugenics was increasingly discredited as unscientific and racially biased during the 20th century.
Expect More. Unfortunately, the trumpie Electorate voted for all that is coming.
🇮🇪🇪🇺
The MAGA apologists will all join forces, denying any wrongdoing and saying that there is nothing in the Constitution or Bill of Rights which prevents these atrocities, but they will always be atrocities.
Plan. Die quickly and save tax dollars.
"Yo Mississippi, Yo Arkansas. If you wanna be the most backward state in America, you gotta come through Missouri first."
Not only is the state care dangerous, their government has actively refused to fix it, and has made the problem worse.
Have you heard that the world's gone crazy?
Can you name the song?
we have the technology
and the resources
to provide;
decent affordable healthcare
affordable EXCELLENT education
warm housing
food
$ for entertainment
to EVERYONE
and STILL have billionaires
My first 30 years I lived in MO; 7 years caregiving in the field, 28 helping with my brother.
I am now in OK, and he is still in MO, and I worry daily because our 🟧 supporting folks are 75+
I know things are awful out there, but damn. These stats are horrifying.
“Scheer’s caretakers were not held responsible for his death because a court ruled that, as public employees, they were immune from civil suits regarding negligence on the job.”
In many instances it requires more $$$’s, which requires someone in MO might need to pay higher taxes.
It is horrible, but not a shock.
🤮🫠😱
Sadly, many persons young and old are being taken advantage of, or abused in some manner on a daily basis.
This is by no means, NEW, information.
Absolutely Outrageous
When Trump mocked the reporter with disabilities, the value of individuals with developmental disabilities disappeared. Now, does RFK Jr. want to send them to concentration camps?
