This is interesting. I've been wondering (not a lot, but at times) what his driving motivations are. Hadn't considered "Mars rules all." I can see that adding up.

If Trump, who seems far more organized this time, manages to deliver on promises of reducing government size, MAHA, and at least the perception of rooting out corruption, the odds are Republicans will stay in power.
Elon is a driving force behind delivering those things.

Of course there are a lot of big ifs here, but maybe trying to pave the way for the incredibly positive changes to EVs, renewable energy and space travel that Elon has been affecting would have been a better choice.

In US, he feels strongly he should be above the law. Trump may give him that.

I generally agree with your thesis although I think his biggest hard pivot was the gender topic with his daughter and the resulting hours he spent on X. From the current administration he could also get easier self-driving approval.

That's one piece yes, he's also a pretty black and white person as Aspergans tend to be which I think drives that position for better or for worse. My old partner is Aspergan and it got really intense sometimes.

There's a bunch more but it'll just drive dissent, my main thesis is Mars rules.
