I hear that if you're on Medicaid and awaiting surgery, you SHOULD NOT CANCEL, no matter what. The funding freeze fight is bringing the lawyers out to feed and they'll be interested in what you're suffering through.

Yeah, I'm planning to stick with it. I'll not thrilled with the idea of needing a lawyer, but if that's what I have to do..

Contrary to popular belief, I'm trying to SURVIVE all of this, so this possible impending surgery is critical to that.

Right, you would be in the same boat there. Hopefully nothing happens or the freeze gets blocked, but we'll see where things stand in another month.
