The MCU universe isn't EARTH 616, which is the central Earth in the comics. The T'challa we got isn't is actually a variant. They all are. One of the under-pinnings of the MULTIVERSE SAGA was to recast everybody and start over with Earth-616. So yes, variant. But there's nothing wrong with that.

I thought he would’ve just done his hound schtick, but he brings a surprising amount of intelligence and wisdom that fits with Megatron. He would’ve been fine as Megatron regardless, but wasn’t expecting this much effort from him. Not a knock on his talent, merely noting his commitment.
