Really excited to see who they cast as David Bowie's codpiece. It's a hard part to play for sure, but I really think the right actor or actress could fill the role and really make it shine. Someone with real hands on experience who is willing to get their hands a little dirty if need be.

The movie Labyrinth was far from a critical darling upon release.The acting left much to be desired,and as a fantasy film,it felt hollow and uninspired.Its cult following aside, there’s no compelling reason to revisit this universe.A sequel would only tarnish whatever nostalgic charm it still holds.

I haven’t seen a film of his that I’ve liked. Find them like pretty outer shell but empty inside. I kinda like the witch well enough. He came up in production design and I think he’s very good at that. Sets, costumes, accuracy. But I’m very skeptical of his ability to write and work with actors.

Nah, his narratives are generally pretty boring as hell. He gas great attention to detail with regards to production design and period authenticity, which is refreshing. Regardless, all, that's pretty worthless if you can't tell a good story, hence why his films feel hollow.

I can see how one walks away seeing nothing there or bored but I have to disagree for sure. The Witch is a criticism of dogmatic religion in showing how it can tear apart a family, and The Lighthouse is an exercise of psychology breaking down between to lonely men.

There are certain roles that can only ever be played by their original actor, and recasting never works. See Johnny Depp as Willy Wonka, Emily Blunt as Mary Poppins, Maria Bello as Evelyn O'Connell, Julianne Moore as Clarice Starling, Jackie Earle Haley as Freddie Kruger etc.

The amount of mostly knee jerk, negative reaction to this isn't surprising because of course, Labyrinth is yet another "beloved 80's classic" with the potential of having "childhood's ruined."

I HIGHLY doubt Eggers would sign on to a project he wouldn't want to do or have a legitimate idea for.

I was surprised by how good the Dark Crystal prequel was, so I won't immediately blow this off. I truly hope Brian Froud is still involved with concept art, at least. His designs really brought the perfect dark fantasy vibe to Henson's puppets.
