I think the top five are EEAAO, Parasite, Moonlight, The Departed, and No Country. Of those Iβd probably go Parasite.
What could be a cool tradition to start is picking the best Best Picture of every decade. So at the end of 10 years, the last 10 winners face off in a vote. Then every 100 yearsβ¦
Deffo. For me, I prefer Goodfellas over Departed, but it still holds on it's own. I view No Country better than Fargo. Parasite in time will be cemented as a movie that was worth it's weight in terms of a win, while No Country for me has had enough time to earn it's Win.
I def. Agree with goodfellas/no country takes ππΎ i was solely picking out of the best picture winners. Parasite/departed/no country had the best first watch experience for me ππΎ
I think Moonlight and Everything Everywhere are by far the top of the class, with Nomadland a relatively distant third. For the most part a lot of these are good movies that left me cold in one way or another and overshadowed a better film.

And I'm still unhappy that there has been no physical release of this movie
Oppenheimer is a phenomenal film but nothing like that tension or performance of Jeremy Renner in that film alongside Anthony Mackie.
12 Years a Slave would be my 3rd that made me cry. Amazing film.
The Shape of Water and Moonlight comes close though.
And the last shot of the boy, facing the sea, looking at the camera, brings me tears every time.
Why?
Because, if the TV shows me , ill see it, at least, few scenes.
