As it’s focus on meta humor and film commentary, he could be a representation on writers lacking ideas for their finale and have to bring someone back, someone cool.
Maybe it'll be an homage to Friday the 13th where Jason Voorhees' corpse was struck by lightning and he gained resurrection powers in the *sixth* movie.
Stu originally was meant to return, his body was never shown hauled out of the house and the original plan for the second film was him starting a cult from prison
Yeah, and that probably killed him, but my lifetime of watching TV and movies has slowly taught me that - if someone doesn’t get shot in the head, or get their head chopped off, they are subject to still be alive.
There was always a theory that the tv never actually killed him. There isn’t much evidence to back this up but it would be neat if this is how it went. I remember in Scream 6 I was super excited cause one of the ghostfaces held the knife just like Stu Macher did in the OG movie. Was disappointed.
I'm not sure how I feel about both Stu and Roman coming back in the next one. I'm expecting it's just going to be some kind of weird dream sequence unless they do the cop out "illegitimate kid of the killers" route.
"Hold up people, the TV was still plugged up long enough for Neve Campbell to dropped it on Matthew Lillard's head by frying his brains to death, I've seen the first #Scream movie in 1996 on DVD & there's no way in hell that anyone survived THAT, EVER."
Id imagine this will be like hallucinations or nightmares or some shit. They literally make fun of people theorizing hes still alive in the most recent movie and theyre also bringing the guy who played Roman back who got shot straight in the face.

Imagin being spoiled by something that's clearly meant to be a suprise.. a whole year before the movie comes out.
At least No Way Home tried to be cheeky about it with Andrew/Tobey.
“Palpatine somehow returned.”
