They're from a different universe. That's why the director said "their universe". They'll get pull into the MCU in the movie but we have to watch it to see how that happens

Of course they will since they want these characters to interact with the other MCU characters. This movie is how they'll explain why the F4 wasn't there during either Infinity War and Endgame. Can't just drop them into Doomsday out of the blue.
