Trigger got really good at hiding when they wanted to cheap out on the animation budget (which they do to fund much more epic segments). This is not an insult.
Do you really need full, fluid animation when Maine is busting David’s chop and it’s just dialogue?

I’d argue that whole scene works better that way. Just the smooth slide of the face behind him, leering. Asking David if he and Alice did a horizontal tango.
Even when Trigger cuts corners, they do it with panache.

It would have been 4.5 stars if I didn’t get duped into buying and playing a buggy open world game. A buggy open world game where cyber psychosis IS OF NO CONSEQUENCE. When it’s a big shadow looming over the anime story.
