I remember when the HPV vax came out the fundamentalists were outraged bc they claimed it would encourage immorality. Like cervical cancer is justifiable punishment for extramarital sex. Except when they do it, of course.

Most of the country had no idea what HPV even was at the time, so I struggle to imagine teenagers being all like I got a shot today! Who can I have sex with immediately?!? And then of course the science proved that the feared outcome didn’t happen.
