Option 4: Siemens produces the new Airo trains for Amtrak as well as high speed trainsets for brightline west’s California-Vegas route. They also make a high acceleration commuter EMU, the Mireo
Option 3: California Dreamin’ The Stadler KISS is being used with great success on Caltrain in the Bay Area following recent electrification upgrades. Dramatically increased speed and reliability compared to prior diesel locomotive service.
Option 2: Maryland made bullet train. Hitachi’s AT300 series is the backbone of modern UK rail and can handle the max-speed 125 mph Penn line no problem!
Option 1: Looks familiar! NJT has bought an EMU version of the Alstom multi-level III. Marc already runs unpowered Bombardier/Alstom multi-level cars so it’s compatible with the existing fleet.
