But Republicans have violated the filibuster and similar antimajoritarian checks under Trump before — for SCOTUS and federal judges — so they can still do it if they think it’s necessary
I'm trying to discern what level of norm breaking we should or shouldn't engage in ourselves, and that answer seems to be impossible to know without the benefit of hindsight.
But if Trump asks, they might break it now for other legislative priorities
