I'm sick with worry about animals in the hills around Los Angeles. I saw a video of a scared and confused fawn wandering lost among vehicles at the site of the fires and immediately hearkened back to Bambi. The devastation to wildlife is unimaginable.

Please do not feed wildlife. It leads to habituation and a loss of the healthy respect/fear people and wildlife need. Coyotes that have been fed and lost their fear of humans have bitten people.

I noticed you posted this a couple times. I think a wildfire burning down their home and hunting area warrants some food left out for them. It can be left out without the association of a human giving it to them. But yes, under normal circumstances feeding them is a bad idea.

Every day people think they're "helping" coyotes, raccoons, deer, etc. and more often than not they're creating problems and harming wildlife. Please listen to professionals and don't feed wildlife.

I just heard that there were a quite a lot of horses running around, terrified and lost. I did see someone on MSNBC say they’re available to rescue them and if I can find their number I will post it. They have a 20 ft horse trailer and are trained rescuers.
