Something different to run on. Voters are rebelling against the system, but Trump’s “reforms” make it worse. We can propose reforms to make it better. But we have to message it better because we tried and failed at this before.

I’m curious if the messaging is more important than the organizing or even just money. In places where RCV passed it seems like it was mostly outside money coming in to give advantage to one side or the other, no?

Money and organizing work for direct measures like RCV. But reforms requiring action from electeds require messaging to convince marginal voters that candidates can achieve the reforms and that the reforms will improve the systems the voters dislike. Otherwise we’re just preaching to the choir.

Ranked voting. At it needs is 1 level and there won't be any risk of throwing away your vote. Choose the non MTG candidate of same party without fear of handing the election to the other party. Ranked voting should weed out the Gatez types.

The goal of multi member districts is to break up the party duopoly. If 60% of your district are Dems and 30% are greens, under our normal system the greens will never get a seat.

It’s an interesting idea, though I’m not sure if I’d prefer a European style party system to ours
