What are some common pitfalls you see authors make in their submission packages/queries?

I'm looking to submit an Adult Urban Fantasy about a FMC on a revenge path to defeat the vampire that compelled her to kill her best friend. It is dark and grorey at times (as it shifts into cosmic horror). Does this sound like something you'd be interested in?
1. Are you open to stories that imply SA happened to a character as long as there’s no direct scenes of it?

1. How do I know if my contemporary romance is a romcom or just a CR that is funny?
2. How do you feel about dual timeline contemporary romance? What needs to be there for it to work?
3. What settings do you like/dislike for contemporary romance?
1. IMO, romcom has more focus on comedic elements. There more funny & awkward moments between characters. Probably some puns, both intentional and unintentional. CR may cover heavier topics without as much levity.
2. I'm good with dual timelines 💙 They're can be story puzzles.
