It's not that I don't want to hear their voices* it's that they can't answer some very basic questions I have, and they don't have anything new to say.
I recently had a conversation with one that was appalled at the fact Germany has a law against "Incitement of Hatred". He was really going off about how it means we have no free speech at all. Because we can't make racist dogwhistles and genocidal rhetoric without concequence... priorities, I guess.
People who go on about the “marketplace of ideas” sure hate when discourse actually functions like a marketplace! Just accept that your ideas are unpopular and get over yourself!!!
The "gentler" forms of "conservatism" were always just ways to abstract out their bigotry anyway.
"Fiscal Conservationism" suggested they didn't hate certain groups, they just believed we "can't afford to help them" while spending significantly more money punishing them instead. It was transparent.
there are two outcomes from hearing conservative voices; either saying “this is stupid and bigoted” and reading it was a waste of your time or saying “they have a point” and becoming matt taibbi
my man didn’t just say “the wokes went to far when they called me, a white man, mysogynist” and “free speech means giving nazis book deals” he went full “ted cruz and rand paul are heroes” the man either had repeated concussions or found a good sugar daddy
I got Ground news about half a year ago, because I was worried I was stuck in a leftwing bubble. But all of the right wing publications give me the same response “This is stupid, bigoted and doesn’t mention half of the facts because those facts actively prove them wrong.”
The whole idea of "not living in a bubble" only matters if you want to understand how people as whole think. Once you follow conservatives for more than five years you're just gonna keep seeing the same dumb shit over and over. It's pointless if you want to know how the world actually works.
Nick Mullen spent 2012-2016 supporting / defending / promoting neo-Nazi hacker Weev on Twitter (Mullen was living w Chapo hosts Biederman and Frost at the time). Note on the day it was reported Weev had swastika tattoo Mullen insisted "Weev's racism is critical." He wasn't doing irony. @purlane.ink
We may be going up against pumpkin spice Palpatiene. But united, we are the jedi order! Our voices matter. We CAN make a difference! Pressure from us forced Matt Geatz out. We need to keep up the pressure to protect our rights and our democracy.

"I'm only a conservative, hurr durr."
No, you're not. You're a fascist, plain & simple, or a far-right reactionary at best.
There is nothing judicially, legislatively, morally, or fiscally "conservative" in any sense of the word about the republican party.
They have devolved into a hate, fear, and money cult.

both outcomes are bad!
