But leaves it for men, women (mostly white), veterans, and rural students. Mostly white students. So there’s plenty of race based support that will continue. But only for white peoples. And I bet we’ll hear nothing from white women who largely benefit from these program

We are not equal in the US. We haven't been since Europeans first touched our shores and decided that God gave them a right to the lands and waters of the Wampanoags and other East Coast tribes and then expanded West, all the way into Alaska and the Pacific Islands. 🧵

The reasons for this are many & include institutional racism first & foremost, from BIPOC students earning fewer participation points than white students to women & BIPOC faculty receiving worse student evaluations, even if the students only know their sex & race by the name on their zoom screen.🧵

We have never been equal, we are still not equal, & this is why we need to support BIPOC students faculty and staff. This purported race-blind order undermines the advances we have made since all Universities (and K-12 Ed) were forced to integrate in the 60s. 🧵
