The University of Alaska's Alaska Native Science and Engineering Program has (seemingly) scrubbed most instances of "Alaska Native" on its website. This coincides with the UA Board of Regents voting to get rid of DEI-related language.

I don't have any federal grants at the moment, but I do run a cultural center on a college campus. The fed program that we've had many grants with is the National Endowment for the Arts, which has explicitly said that any reference to anything not saltine cracker will be rejected.

I don’t get it. Do they think they will avoid cuts to their programs by doing this? It’s not like they can scrub that info from their awards (past and present) in the federal databases that DOGE is using to identify awards/programs to cut.

I went to UAA. Liked some of the instructors, but every bureaucrat there was fucking evil. Not surprised in the least.

For context, I am autistic and spent two years on disciplinary probation for "looking like" I was "going to hit" a dude that was screaming in my face before dropping out. Rancid.

When I did, they flooded my academic record with spurious allegations including such gems as "misuse of university property" (for standing in an open doorway). One outright told me the dude was trying to make it look like I had cheated, so no other school would take me. Hope they fucking choke.
