I’ve never had to go around at the last second because of weight, but I’ve many times just barely burned my fuel down enough to make maximum landing weight, so I can see how it could happen. I wouldn’t press the issue down to 50 feet, but I have sweated it down to a pretty short final.
I totally understand waiting until you’re about a mile out, or even a 1/2 mile The aircraft was *literally* over the piano keys and we heard the power come up.
At what distance would you make the decision to go around? At DH? 1/2nm? 1/4nm?
I never had a hard number, but I certainly wouldn’t find myself over the surface of the runway, or even the approach lights, and make the decision then.
It is far and far between the times I can type a post without any form of typo in it 🤣 And honestly I didn't even notice, my brain read that just fine LOLL

I try to limit myself for my own sanity nowadays
