Frankly, I don't get this move even a little bit.

They were carrying 8 d-men and Andrae is the only one waiver exempt far as I can tell. My guess is that if Deslauriers is finally healthy and they want to reactivate him, they wanted to maximize cap room by sending somebody down and will activate Deslauriers tomorrow.

It might not be part of some broader roster move plan. It could just be stupidity. Or maybe they’ve suddenly changed to a tank mentality; I don’t think they actually have, but this move will help lead them down that path.

Figured as much. Torts has been pretty clear that they have a rotation going on and everyone is gonna get time off. So if you gotta get the kids game time for their development then the AHL should be on the table. I imagine it will happen again when they break for the Four Nations Tournament.
