Truth! I’m often glad for the errands I run for my parents. I can unplug and hobble about with my cane and rucksack. I never turn on the radio in the car anymore. Just sing to myself and pretend I’m talking to someone on speakerphone. My car is old and does not have this feature…😄🥰
I am four square in favor of engagement in resistance efforts, but I also know myself well enough to respect my limits and preserve some boundaries. Both were hard fought lessons that are by now ingrained.
We all have to know our limits and good boundaries is what makes us grown-ups. It often takes hard fights to get there, sadly. Perhaps we are stronger for it but I would rather have had a more peaceful journey.
