Well sounds great but actually Danes do pay some of the highest taxes in the world- anyway social security, stability and democracy is worth the extra tax .
Denmark also has the highest top rate of personal taxation in Europe. We need to change attitudes to tax - it is a good thing if used properly, not something to be avoided.
I'm not sure what source you're citing, but Finland has been ranked #1 on the United Nations' annual happiness survey for 6 years straight.
Denmark was #2 in 2024, though.
The USA actually pays more in taxes than the Danes when you consider federal, state, local, and sales taxes, especially when factoring in civic benefits like free healthcare and college that Americans do not receive. It’s daylight robbery, Yanks. You’re being fleeced.
Yeah, but according to Forbes, Denmark only has 9 billionaires and the richest is only worth about $12.5 billion, so how happy can they really be? Right?
Finland is the happiest. But the meme is right on point. People in the U.S. are too selfish to pay a bit more in taxes in order to enjoy what the other countries have.
Free education, and 37 hours work week. But we are happy and we are not afraid of complaining. We allways tell the politician that it is not good enough.
They have a very high tax rate. It takes the whole of society to change their views on taxation for the greater good, and I’m afraid I just don’t see it happening. Same in the UK, USA, and most places - everyone wants the money in their own pockets
