It sucks having to explain to students why the Anim industry in Canada is so unstable and that its so dependent on the service/tax credit juice that our careers and jobs can shift depending on choices made from CEOS in the US. ( a ramble 🧵 so take it with all the salt. )

Its leading to jobs in the US more pre-production oriented and jobs in canada being more production oriented. We stop teaching skills.
When the habit is always to push to your resources limits instead of building a sustainable system you will always cut corners. That's the thought process of the industry at large that we are dealing with.
Also the group outsourced to are often exploited, and those outsourced from have skill, knowledge, opportunity bled away as a result
