Also Optimus is pushed to brink, to the point where he declares that if he ever sees this one human, the species he's sworn to protect, he'll kill him. And then the conclusion of that ark is he does, as an afterthought, and everyone feels no particular way about it.

Rise of the Beasts is a better movie than Age of Extinction but the whole plotline of Optimus learning to trust humans and welcome them being around makes wayyyy more sense and thus has more satisfying payoff in AoE than in RotB
