This is maddening. They're normalizing hate and laughing all the while. 2,000 years ago it was the Roman salute, but for the last 80, it was and still is, the Nazi salute.

The NASDAP ripped off emblems from the Romans; Hitler was a scholar of them. That stick with the eagle and swastika and ropes and stuff up at the top of it mimics the Romans. The rally grounds by Speer intended to capture the grand glory of spaces like the Colosseum. A return to mythology, but new.

Of course, there's no historical record of the Roman Salute existing. Nazis believed it, though. Was that Nazi propaganda?
Originally, it was the Fascist Salute. It originated with the Italian Fascist Party.
