Our son is due to retire with 20 years of service in the Marines. We decided to not sell our too big for us home simply because we wanted to make sure he and his wife were able to find jobs. She works civil service and doubts to have her job much longer.

Thank you for your kind words. He will be O.K. We will always have a roof for him and his wife. He realizes he is much better off than so many others. It is just hard to start from scratch at 38 years old when your only work experience is the military, and veterans don't seem to get as much respect.
And the old folks in nursing homes will be turned out into the streets with Medicaid gone…All the careworkers in the nursing homes will lose their jobs… These morons have no idea how interwoven the federal gov’t is in all our lives.

The amount of homeless people will climb. When they break the Social Security system & it sure looks like they’re trying hard . Retirees will all be in the streets & won’t be able to buy health insurance or food. They will be looking for the good garbage. It’s a nightmare.
Pre-Covid stats were that 40% of the unhoused work full time jobs, but income is too low for housing… who knows what this will look like when we go into a recession again
The programs I volunteered for had many 2 income families unhoused due to low wages and high housing costs. The republicans are destroying the economy on purpose

It will be grandma’s kicked out of nursing homes. That’s what helped get social security started in the 1st place. Old ppl homeless in the street. If Republicans hadn’t raided the SS fund it would be fully funded today.

If all the top 5% of earners paid their fair share of taxes, we would have no money worries at all, and we could begin paying off the national debt and balancing the budget. The irony is that the top earners wouldn't even gave to suffer to pay a bit more in taxes. They are just too greedy to do it.
If an average american loses 10 percent of their annual income, they have to make a choice between, fresh food and utilities/housing. If the top 20 percent earners lose 50% of their annual income, it has zero affect on their standard of living.
He plans on even bigger tax cuts yet to come for the 1%. And all this shit Musk is cutting- is actually costing us lots. Not actually saving so far! It’s a simple solve. But the hoarding addiction is exalted- when it is the injustice!
And the Supreme Court allowed states to criminalize homelessness. Which I could imagine Trump forcing blue states to enforce by withholding funds, so that he can "solve homelessness."
How on earth is that supposed to work if they have mental and/or physical issues that can't be managed at home? I could no more have cared for my mother at home than the man in the moon.

As an Occupational Therapist in a skilled nursing facility we have admitted 3 separate patients that the hospitals simply discharged them with no place to go. One recent lady and her brother were living in their car, another and her adult daughter were living in the back of a u-haul.
Every day including our state and county reps. City and counties have been getting rid of lower cost starter homes and allowing bigfoots in to raise housing and property tax revenue. Pricing families and lower income residents out.
