The 1980s is when you could buy a FICO from Equifax directly but Fair Isaac sold its first scoring systems in 1958. Consumer credit bureaus have existed in the USA since the 1890s.

Yes but you also get more points for longer aged accounts being opened, pay before closing date, not the due date.
