The thing is, that blank white page is the scariest hurdle you will overcome. Anything you can write to defeat it - that's important. It doesn't matter where in the story it is.
I know some writers who write the beginning last, which even allows for foreshadowing in their first draft!

There's no rule to say you must write in chronological order. As long as you're getting words on the page, that's what matters.
