All these corporations dissolving their DEI programs makes me wonder. I used think they adopted these programs cuz it’s the right thing to do, but maybe they just adopted them to please the previous administration.

Yeah. There was a lot of performative opposition to Trump from big companies in 2017 given his unpopularity and then they tried to please the Biden admin but now that Trump has won they feel free to go mask off like they always wanted.
maybe! i wouldnt be surprise. it's an extra cost and a DEI is already not guaranteed to keep good people in the company if there are many other problems. the DEi person also might just suck too.
I was stunned when Disney shelved that one episode of Moongirl that dealt with trans issues because...isn't right now, more than ever, the time when episodes like that are needed most?
It's clear that all these companies never cared for diversity, even if Disney wanted bragging rights of "the first LGBT animated kiss" which is always some weird two second thing that can be censored so they can market in other countries. It's always been about money.
Administration partly, yes. Social pressure backed by financial implications even more. But most of all, a corporation will act with its shareholders in mind first and foremost, way above anything or anyone else.
The biggest corporations in the world have more wealth than a majority of countries.
Yeah, it was probably just a way to try and appear progressive for the sake of increased sales, which explains why some of them like Target ended up kowtowing to threats from bigots. They didn't have any strong convictions.
Bingo, and that's always the case with any company. Very very VERY few companies will do what is perceived as "the right thing" unless there is a profit motive for it, especially with shareholders involved.
