but i am a leftist lol, an actual one and not the generalized leftist boogeyman. I just think we need to have an accountable tax code and put more towards education and infrastructure along with health

Infrastructure yes...education and health no. Why? Not in the Constitution. But also education has been under federal control, and we spend more on students, but our scores keep going down...
Less loopholes based in "charity" less offshoring of money to avoid paying american taxes.
Well again my points are from the leftist side I tend to. Overall thats a government wish not based in consitutionality, if it could be done in a way which put america ahead in education a global scale but
on the state level I'd be fine too. I think that as our country exists with democracy and capitalism the most fruitful investments are long term things like education that return dividends in the countries future. Same with health but I also think it needs to be viewed as a changing how we view
I agree! I believe the reason is 2 fold...first our food. Most of it is processed and food-like objects. 2nd is health, the medical field has no reason to make you healthy, if they did they would be out of a job.
They prescribe 1 thing that has side effects to prescribe you something else.
But yeah I actually think most people would probably agree on a lot of substantive issues. Nobody is going to go "I want people to be dumber and less healthy in the future" in my opinion neither party has a vested interest in the future in a true long term sense.
Eh I don't want to do the hair splitting on democratic republic representative republic, I don't personally find it to be a useful conversation because kind of like the "is booker fillibustering" question it's really semantic but I know some people like to get brass tacks on it
So taxes are a complicated topic. In short, most rich people do not get W2s like you. They make their money through risk. Risk is defined as purchasing rental properties, art, stocks, etc. Through this risk, they make money and lose money. This is how they get their wealth.
2) Healthcare... we're going to tell Drs what they can charge and how many patients they can see. But they sacrifice 8+ years to get through school and training.
I don't see any other profession where we say you can only work X hours, for this pay...I believe insurance is the problem.
well the healthcare thing its more about how insurance acts as a middleman and how we don't subsidized doctoral education. I do firmly believe the gov should be trying to make fields like education and health the most lauded field because they effect peoples actual life the most (imo)
Is it the government's job to do that? I don't think so, but I like you thinking something needs to be done on that...it would give more bureaucrats money to hide and steal.
What about getting more people into the trades, so that we have electricity and HVAC, etc., in the future?
