I agree there should be PR. But the lack of defining the type reminds me of the vague Brexit definitions and empty slogans.

Personally I’d go for the German system

The 2011 referendum on AV (like STV, with single-member constituencies) was defeated pretty soundly.

There's been some severely non-proportional elections since then though.

STV might pass nowadays, unless major parties run another smear campaign.

I don’t agree that it’s meaningless. I think what it means is that a growing percentage of the population would favour a voting system that would give us a Parliament more reflective of the range of our political views. What form that should take is still up for debate.
