Absolutely. I have a bunch of finance bro friends who are eagerly awaiting USA downturn. Even ole warren buffet did a massive sell off of stock and exchanged billions in US currency so that when the USD crashes he can buy a shit ton and make profit while appearing to "save the American economy" 😅😅
Because everyday people in the USA will end up paying the costs of those tariffs and all the negative things that come from that will harm our economy.
Because it will result in China shipping that share of its exports that used to go to the USA to other countries and if they increase the amount they are shipping to other countries at the very least it will decrease prices because it's more in bulk.
...countries to get that business. This will cause an increase in sales, jobs, et in those countries to respond to that. And as others mentioned, they can resell to the USA without that tariff, so the cost of the tariff comes from USA consumers and indirectly goes to the country reshipping to us.
Trump cult followers only wish to see the Great Leader and gimp musk more rich over the next few years. Americas will suffer as GL has said, but thankfully Great Leader will have himself more wealthy and secure, while lowly American Peasants bask in HIS glory.
Gotta love when news sources put out articles based on the thoughts of a single "economist". "It MIGHT lower inflation in other companies IF specific criteria is met and I'm totally not talking out of my ass"
Come on. When has the world economy done well when the US hasn't?? We are the world.
Anyone remember how the last China tariffs went for US farmers? They'll retaliate. Washing machines went up $200. The tariffs planned are on everything & higher. It's like nobody remembers TFGs stock market crashes. Soybeans grain & pork etc crashed.
So China lowers prices on its imported goods to other countries and raises them on consumers in the US to compensate for the tariff, lowering inflation in other countries. Brilliant Trump move...

They'll also offer sweetheart deals to those...
I wonder if Trump would go further then by imposing the tariff not just on the nation of origin but the actual product itself.
Come on. When has the world economy done well when the US hasn't?? We are the world.
