This same thing happened in Dubai. Was it dealt with? No! Will it be this time? No! Oil states have one thing going for them -money. No-one seems to care about workers rights or stoning people to death as long as the money rolls in.
No country should go to the world cup..Saudi should not be allowed too host it,mixture of abuse of migrants, weather, and the political storm that country is kicking up.But u know what,FIFA wont give a damn, but the players and nations should do.
How to disintegrate a corrupt organization or stop its corrupt practices without athletes suffering from it? Maybe the host of world cup or olympic games should be voted in UN or by popular vote and the IOC or FIFA should only have an organizing role. Nobody should own our sport heritage.
Saudi, and the rest of the oil rich Arab states, use and abuse of indentured workers isn't exactly new, sadly. As others have pointed out, nothing more than slight tutting will happen. Saudi knows they have a commodity everyone needs, so are pretty much untouchable.
Of course another winter world cup. It’s 104 degrees in July. And potable water is probably $8 a liter. If women are lucky, they’ll be able to sit in the last 10 rows.
The sort of awful things that happened last time FIFA gave the World Cup to an undeserving oil-rich human-rights-abusing sportswashing absolute Gulf monarchy are happening AGAIN?
After Qatar, Arabia. Same slavery of labor which will give the same results with the consent of FIFA which only has eyes for its cash drawer. The only question that remains is how many oppressed workers will be cast into concrete in the north and south stand. Not Kafala system, but Kafka system.

Who could have SEEN this coming?
That's how our governments are.
