The money in the PL now means that the mid-table teams are so strong. Palace have Guehi, Eze. WHU have Kudus, Paqueta, Bowen. Wolves have Cunha, Ait Nouri and so on. If you need to win 10 games to stay up, it’s hard to find enough teams the promoted sides can beat.
It’s OK
The money will bugger off to Europe before too long with all the middle class supporters.
Well let them play in the FA cup if they like.
And good riddance.
We can have football back.
It'd be interesting to see how many contentious VAR decisions screw over promoted teams as well. Look at some of the dodgy decisions dumped on #saintsfc by the cosy EPL brigade.
Not that it'd make much difference but it might help if there was a level playing field.
I do think this is going to become the new norm over the next few years though, as the supposed “weaker sides” as you’ve named there are now full of top class international players, Bournemouth signing Porto’s star striker etc. The gap is widening every year making the top flight almost ring-fenced
I get you, and Everton are a good example as they’re a very poor side this year, but even then their squad is much better than the promoted 3 and when push comes to shove they’ll grind out points where the others won’t ie a point a piece from Arsenal & Chelsea. PL too rich for its own good now

but everything has to be black or white, all or nothing to get clicks, I guess.
