And the idea that your career must always be about seeking "more senior roles" is such an outdated view too. Compensate someone for their skills, not some arbitrary label you've slapped on them.
I worked for one company, years ago, where people could choose a 'management path' or a 'professional path' (I chose the latter) - I was paid the same as the managers as I developed my skills and a very senior 'professional' earned much more. We need to rethink work.
Exactly so - that company had another interesting policy - if you took a promotion and didn't enjoy it, you could revert back with no loss of face. One friend became a director, hated it, so went back to being a consultant on the professional path.

Sad as it may be; but she is right to a certain extent. I see it again and again in the finance world in the UK. Not with every CEO but some. One would hope, however, that she as being one of the few female seniors leaders is doing her bit to change this
Now we’re using the “visibility” threat/ploy to force women employees into offices. Seems like another means to protect corporate real estate, with bonus of justifying discrimination. FFS…Just train managers how to manage, engage, and assess remote and hybrid employees’ performance.

Yes, it would hurt those who come in less because of the shallow 'if I can't see you working, you aren't working' mentality. The problem is not with those working from home, it is the the limited management abilities of those in charge of them.

This. Covid lock down show us that ALL office jobs can be done remotely. It's all control. Companies don't want you to have a work life balance. A 9 to 5 is actually a 7a to 6p due to commute.
I’m sorry but this is more old world mental conditioning and it’s crap. Whether male or female, home working or office based, talent should always be looked after. We can accommodate all preferences of work with technology and more traditional methods. It all boils down to how exec’s want to do it

It doesn't matter where you work from, if you get the job done and are good at it the location shouldn't matter.
Yet more women have caring responsibilities (for children and/or elderly relatives). If only there was some way for partners, employers and govt bodies to actually support them...

People management is a skill like any other. Workers shouldn't be forced into it if it's not something they're particularly keen on doing.
