So I have to choose: drinking coffee whenever I want and dying like every average person, or suffering my whole life by drinking just one f**** cup of coffee in the morning.🤔
The paper includes this sentence “Women and men who had no history of coronary heart disease, stroke, cancer, or major neurological disease were invited to participate.” I am not qualified to say whether this is a valid approach but I would like to hear from other statisticians or researchers.
Makes sense - those having a cup in the morning have ordinary lives while those abstaining may be doing so for health reasons so will have worse health as a cohort.
Those drinking coffee later in the day are likely those dealing with chronic sleep deprivation which is associated with poor health.
