Backfire for who? Not the front bench tories like Starver, Reeves and Lammy who are going to get rich off it. You wanted a right wing labour govt guardian so you can fecking well own it.
The only way developed countries can stem the “Titanic” global economic shift on the way, is to switch from democracy to a more tightly controlled fascist system and they are slowly switching.

All developed countries are slowly moving in this direction.
It’s not odd, they are adjusting “radically” to the new global economic structure.
Developed countries are losing wealth to the developing nations.
The wealthy in the developed nations are coalescing around Musk and his Fascist concepts.
I'm not British but the Labour government seems to be Tory lite? Since most Brits were pretty pissed off with the Tories, doesn't this mean the Reform party is a real chance next time?
I really hope reform don’t get more seats as reform are a million times worse. They cant even be trusted to organise a piss up. Let alone do the basic work a MP needs to do when not even in power.
Feels like a Labour muck-spreader churning out loads of it in the name of growth.
Ironically, voters will continue to enrich Amazon, oblivious to outcomes, which becomes a source of their anger come 2028. I'd love to see our growing depandancy on Amazon curtailed but what can anyone do?
I used to work on matters related to risk, compliance and regulatory affairs. The problem here is that regulation in the public interest crept into regulation for regulation's sake. It's right it should be pruned back.
Trickle-down economics has not worked (except for the wealthy), it isn't working, and it can't work. It inevitably rewards the apex predators and reduces labor to a commodity.
Remaining outside the EU and now this to further allow standards to be reduced and profits to increase. No consideration of the consequences to the people. Just look at what poor regulation has done to our water industry. They become more Tory day by day.
Who is pulling Starmer’s strings? Neoliberalist trickle down capitalism only enriches the few & impoverishes rest of us which is Starmer’s masters masterplan. Deregulation is part of this agenda. Ordinary people got above their stations in life wanting more than few crumbs the billionaires throw us
I was horrified by this decision and it undermines for me how weak and lacking in vision labour are. This is literally turkeys voting for Christmas. All the problems right now come back to not regulating monopolies.
Trumpism is what it is. You couldn't make it up. Theses political clowns are as economically illiterate as the clowns they replaced. They do not represent the nation. We need national go-slows, strikes, sit-ins, etc. to seize back democracy and our fundamental rights with it. Muzzle billionaires.
Every regulation was written in blood. Undoing any will just cause the pain the regulation was designed to stop to come back worse. But at this point everything is mask off, causing mass harm to the working class is the explicit intent of the monsters in power
