It's not about what I do or don't like to deal with. I've dealt with things in MY life that will make some people's head spin. I'm just not in the mood this morning to explain myself to a complete stranger who knows nothing about me, nor whom I know nothing about .
That wasn't a healthcare CEO. That was a healthcare DENIAL CEO. I know that you're a British news outlet so you may not know how our fucked up system works, but this is a seriously important difference to get right. An insurance CEO is NOT a "healthcare CEO" by a wide margin.
Agree with you 100%. This news outlet is no longer a trusted one. The Scales (on here) aptly calls them: The Guardian of the Establishment. And this article shows you why.
Ten years ago I would have been unequivocally against this guy and his methods, and those cheering him on. But the world's changed. I find myself thinking this chap fired the first shot of what needs to come.
He’s up there with Marvin Heemeyer, as a symbol of what happens when the people have had enough. Let those individuals serve as a warning to this current government and their trampling of our rights and the destruction of our institutions. The people are literally and figuratively sick of it.
The Pennsylvania governor forgets that Thompson denied coverage which killed thousands of people and no one was concerned with their spouses and children. Our society ceased being polite a long time ago.
Luigi hasn't done a goddamned thing for anyone except for the private security industry. He's just another American prick with the emotional maturity of a toddler and unlimited access to firearms.
Jesus hasn't done a goddamned thing for anyone except for the private Pharisee security industry. He's just another Judaen prick with the emotional maturity of a Gaul and unlimited access to bread, fish and wine.
And yes, the US has a serious firearm problem, but the CEO shooter (allegedly Luigi) used a ghost gun that was 3D-printed. So “unlimited access to firearms” is a bit of a nonsensical comment.
Luigi sure as shit has done something. He brought much needed attention to the scam of a healthcare system in the US. The costs of healthcare are outrageous and thus the cost of insurance is outrageous. Luigi, if he really did this, is actually quite emotionally smart and intelligent.
Hey could you guys write a story about how UHC, under Brian Thompson, used an AI model with a 90% failure rate to decide whether seniors on Medicare were approved for medical treatment?

Then you would have a balanced perspective.
Ok, I will go away and not waste your time.
