"The world´s most admired democracy" is as true as when their army and secret services interfere with governments and countries "in the name of freedom."
C´mon!
I think it's time for other countries to band together and refuse to engage with the Trump administration. He's trying to bully and intimidate countries into submission. If all these countries refuse to comply with his crazy, he will lose power over them.
It won't be easy. It can't be done overnight. But the whole world must step away from the US and arrange alternative trade and alliances, including militarily. I see a time when there is a G6 (or maybe a G7 with a substitute for the US). Just accept US=Russia.
Trump is Kompromat Krasnov, destroying the US and the West from within as Putin directs him to do. Stopping the cyber protections against Russia, easing sanctions, stopping arms flows to Ukraine. Russia defeats the US without firing a single bullet.
He didn’t change the rules of engagement, he just failed to understand them, though the consequences remain. Old allies trusted the USA’s "integrity"👉 the foundation of leadership. Trump and his supporters don’t grasp its importance, and without it, leadership becomes empty and trust is lost.
The Zelensky ambush was a thinly veiled justification for pulling Ukraine funding. . .if you failed to spot this the problems may not be entirely one sided. .
Lol, may be it`s time for trump to learn something?
Like it is not benefitial to be bully and liar, no matter how many ass-kissing he managed to secure :)
@donaldjtrump-maga.bsky.social is too dumb to understand the rules and will hurt his own supporters the most ( all good, he only cares about the rich ones)

Europe came under the US nuclear umbrella to avoid nuclear proliferation. You remove that shield and nations like Poland, Germany, Czech Spain , Italy and the Scandinavian Countries will all develop Nuclear weapons at this rate very quickly.
Trump hasn't changed the rules of engagement, he is deliberately breaking them in order to better service his boss in Russia. He's a Putin asset and the sooner the GOP especially clock on to this reality, the better, because right now they're destroying their own nation.
I agree.. What is obviously a plutocrat/techbro landgrab will ultimately run into trouble... quite soon I suspect. Elon is hacking away firing people at the same time inflation is rising and the US economy is contracting at its worst pace (organically) for a decade.
These are the same people who watched their loved ones choke and die in respirators believing Covid was a hoax. They will believe and do anything Trump says and they are not receptive to new evidence, even if they see it with their own two eyes. There is no truth there is only fealty.
Completely agreed. Trump supporters follow MAGA blindly, they refuse to question their stance, even when faced with clear data showing how Trump’s policies have negatively impacted their income and rights. Their dedication is not just political but ideological and they’ll ever change their stance.
agree.
You cant appeal to a better nature that has been obliterated by lies or tainted by money.
This is where democracy falls over a little, protesting the GOP will achieve zero, they're beyond help & likely enjoying the fruits of the rotton seeds theyve sewn.
yes indeed, whether one agrees with the methods or not, equal and opposite reactions arent simply confined to physics...
Squeezed societies have a habit of bouncing back into shape, sometimes slowly, sometimes violently.
....and he's supposed to be a man of science too! . . for shame!
Yes, trump is an existential threat to peace. He is mentally unstable with a malignant personality disorder. Can't placate a dangerous child ... build a firewall to Europe at the current Russian border ...
The only way this is fixed when the thugs get thrown out of power is Nuremberg trials. These far right republicans are stripping billions and syphoning it off to their crypto schemes everything they are doing is illegal and the only way to reset is have them all charged for treason and cast aside.
This is all just Trump showing his inexperience in politics. He doesn’t understand why leaders do and don’t take particular actions. People who suggest he’s playing a sort of 4D chess using some sort of post hoc rationalisation should probably go with the simplest explanation that he’s just an idiot
You're not wrong - it's clearly insane. Let's remember Trump has bankrupted casinos which is near-impossible mathematically.. But that plucky fucker still manged it..
He has a very long history of simply not paying contractors. And then tying them up in legal red tape when they try to get their money. I can’t believe middle and working class people voted for him.
the problem is so much larger - it's not about stiffed-contractors - it's literally that you have Hispanic people voting for him (when he campaigned on deporting illegal [mainly Hispanic] immigrants).. Trump/Musk's dismantling of the Education Dept will not help matters...
I lived 20yrs in NYC and he was always a joke.. His voting base and political power is a small sliver of plutocrats who want tax benefits and less scrutiny and a huge lump of ass-poor halfwits who feel validated by his cruelty.
Foreign countries need to isolate the U.S., do not share intelligence and proceed without us until we can get this disaster fixed. Don’t let us drag you all down. Trump is hated in the US and his incompetence will cause pain and turn the tide for many of his remaining supporters.
Trump was going to stop support for Ukraine And NATO anyway but just wanted to make it look as if it was Zelenskys fault.
Zelensky says yes, give Ukraine to Putin->stop support.
Zelensky says no->stop support.
And he never said he will support Europe anymore anyway.
That is why he never asked Putin for any concession. He just don't car. He only likes power and obidience. And you get noting in return besides you have to earn his favor again and again. Nothing besides decline will come from this. Europe need to help itselves and dump Trump
And if the US is not able to impeach him now, he will try to change the constitution and if that doesn't work will not hesitate to threaten or provoke a war to get more then 4 years
I love The Guardian.. But the REAL question is will UK and Europe step up and meet the moment... ? The world has shifted almost beyond-comprehension in the last 6 weeks. "What we do now... echoes in eternity.." (Barbara Streisand, Oscars, 1993)
I agree with said comment. USA is the only one to think they have a great democracy system. Never have I heard that people went to the US for its democracy. More for its money and golden dreams...
This country has always excelled @ stealing. Stealing freedoms, land, stealing bodily autonomy, stealing hopes & dreams. It hasn’t EVER been a land to look up to- I feel sad that I once believed the propaganda I was fed as a child. Land of the free my ass! Free to get taken advantage of, maybe. 😞
whole country pal - educated humans live on the seaboards.. but you're spot on... Wyoming has population 250k and sends two shitkicking Good ol' Boys to the Senate. California has 30m population and sends 2 to the Senate. If you took out the shenanigans, Republicans wouldn't win shit.

Layers upon layers of corruption

That’s exactly what Trump suffers from.

Then you seek to replace them with deals that you expect everyone else to respect?
But…but…aren’t “deals” by their nature now invalid?

That’s just a lazy regurgitation of the propaganda Americans are fed since birth.
Surely the most admired democracies are the ones with the happiest populations…
