I don't think this is it. The difference being women literally dress in ways to show off bakeries to the opposite gender, and get their attention. No straight dude wants attention from a gay dude. Straight women could do the same thing back at the straight men, and they would take it as a compliment - ThreadSky

Looking good is in no way dependant on you sexuality or means you want to be approached like that tho. Lesbian women like looking good to other women, and don't want attention feom straight men. Or they just like to look good for themselves. You can't just assume it's for you.

The idea that no straight guy dresses to show off is pretty ridiculous, honestly. Like, what, being a straight man requires being super frumpy? I think there’s an argument that a lot of straight men don’t really know *how* to dress to show off, but many people in that group do try anyway.

Women are not always dressing to show off to men. Often it’s simply to look good for ourselves. One issue is that some men assume that just because a woman puts time into her appearance that it’s for a man’s consideration /appreciation. A good portion of the time, it really isn’t about you at all!
