I don't think it's as bad or as good as people make out. Some of the reviews are extreme on either end.
Plenty of positives and negatives about the game imo.

I went with a Warrior with the Mourn Watch background so I've been going towards Necromancy in the skill tree too. Really fun! I drop kick people make fire earthquakes and necrotic ghost tornados!

I'd have to 💯 agree with you. I was enjoying the first 30 hours, and then it just opened up even more, and the visuals and vistas are purely stunning. I liked it, but now I'm loving it. It's a great rpg and well wroth a try. Definite GOTY contender in rpg category 🔥

Only advice I'll give you is to go into the interface and gameplay options to disable the always present objective markers 🤣

You can switch em to Dynamic for a cleaner view while you're exploring

It's my joint favourite game, in the base game I need about 23 trophies, 13 being story/side quest related, being honest it's just the gwent stuff that worries me 😭 after that it's onto the 100% 👀

Inquisition is great and still holds up pretty well! I'd definitely recommend playing that first, even if it's just to understand some of the references. I've encountered quite a lot
