Infinite Wealth is def one of the best games this year but it doesn’t innovate a ton over its predecessor which got little GOTY consideration but came out in a much more stacked release year. How much does innovation come into play in a GOTY choice?

Yes. Play at least Yakuza 7(Yakuza like a dragon) if you like turn based rpgs. Infinite wealth spoils the ending at the very beginning

Balatro deserves to win something for sure.
I haven't played Astro Bot yet, but Playroom is still one of my favourites, I wouldn't be surprised if Astro won.
By all accounts Infinite wealth is fantastic and Silent Hill 2 remake was loved widely.

I've played a couple of them so I vote based on what I played 🤪😂. I don't have a PS5 so astrobot is already out of the running when I vote. BUT I'm glad to see Atlas and RGG studios are on there. Infinite Wealth and Metaphor deserve a lot of praise this year

I loved Balatro and it should absolutely crush in the indie categories, but Astro Bot was absolutely wonderful. After Balatro, Honorable mentions to Another Crab's Treasure, Warhammer Space Marine, and Helldivers 2.

Silent Hill 2 isn't hard really but it is quite scary! Got me a few times 🤣
