I just saw a NCAA 10K cross country competitor, Habtom Samuel, LOSE ONE OF HIS SHOES during the first half of his race and he decided to keep going. He then got 2nd place!! And he was spiked by another competitor's shoes. I am loving my social media lately. So inspiring!

Note: The feed quality drops off markedly for the last 5 minutes, with some problematic flashing lights, but it's still worth knowing about this event.

No question that the NCAA needs to start covering this with more professional recording equipment, because it really could be a great TV spectacle.

It looks like there was a problem with the signal for a stretch of time so a technical thing.

Cross-country is a brutal sport, a combination of the individual and the team (top 5 finishers score). I believe more high schoolers do cross than any other sport. This is the next level, i.e., the NCAA.

They are so good at television they can make Texas hold em poker sound like the 7th game of the Stanley cup final in double overtime . I’m glad to see coverage of events like this though.
