And bunnies really are a lot of work. It will likely be mistreated or neglected and they often die within a year when their lifespan should be closer to 10. It's heartbreaking that rabbits are treated like this. Anyone who has known and loved a rabbit knows how much intelligence and love they have.

My daughter took a while to graduate, she was 25 & not really into the social aspects of college so wanted to take a house bunny with her. By the time she left that bunny had connected with me because I fed him every morning, so she left him! Cute but so much work! I did find someone who loved him.

I was 12 & neighbors bought me 2 ducks for Easter. It was a sweet gesture but it was ducks & I lived in the burbs! We waited till they were big enough to fend for themselves, took them to a small lake near our home. I marked them with lipstick so I knew which ones they were & they did fine. Whew!

Rabbits are also not good pets unless you hold them a LOT. They are mean, scratch and bite.

I strongly disagree. Rabbits are prey animals and the vast majority of them get scared when you hold them. Maybe that's why you are getting scratched and bitten. Mine do not scratch or bite and that's usually a sign that something is wrong.

Oh gotcha well honestly rabbit care has come a LONG way since then so you were probably doing the best you could with the information available at the time! I think the lifespan let rabbits has like doubled since then.
