It is always strange as a Canadian watching retired American politicians being addressed by the title of their former office: president, governor, senator, congressman. As if it is a noble title that they have earned, rather than an office they once occupied.

FFS. The Clintons are a husband and wife, not a dynasty in any sense like the Kennedys and Bushes. Hillary had a 34 year political career (including as First Lady) which is nothing unusual. You might as well talk about the McConnell-Chao dynasty.

Also, I’m guessing there’s no mention of the fact that Bill needed to make money after leaving office because he was practically broke due to legal bills from GOP harassment? The real break with tradition isn’t ex-presidents cashing in, it’s them not being rich *before* taking office.

Not sure I buy it. The Bush dynasty was a father and son thing, not unheard of. Jeb! crashing broke the chain, the family's state office record is sadly precedented.

And the Clintons... An artefact of two party power-brokers marrying each other in a way not seen when all the most powerful were men?

They weren’t power brokers when they married. This whole piece buys into the “Clinton crime family” framing that the right has used since the 90s.
