It is time for European countries with an air force to start flying defensive missions over parts of Ukraine. A military build up in Europe will take years. It's also likely Putin knew in advance about the suspension and had time to prepare. Trump calls Putin often, phone buddies, so Russia has all Trump decisions in advance, before eg European leaders. Putin also knows Trump will not honor Nato, he probably told him so, often.
