Curious on the tone of these interactions. I wrote a while back about being in Belgium over the 2016 election, and how most of them were amused, like they were watching professional wrestling. I assume this tone has shifted to more gravity?
I think the best way to describe it is that the image of the US has gone from one that is quite cool — in terms of your food, music, beer etc, to one that is basically quite embarrassing. As a Brit we experienced this (and still do) in Europe after Brexit, but this is on a much larger scale.
I agree Matt but it is evident that we see that through our prism while millions here, many more millions in the US and the same across the EU have a different perspective, many here having read the Daily Mail for far too long
