For #FoldOutFriday the 'child turning itself in birth' from James Cooke's Marrow of Chirurgery (1685). Similar images depicting fetal presentation were common in 17thc surgical & midwifery texts. With the fetuses often resembling small toddlers just busy going about their day! #earlymodern
