Would you support using someone like Garnacho in that left-wing-back position? Luke Shaw as the LCB would help Garnacho out but most importantly that back three.
I think Garna suits it well, he did everything that is required of a wing back under Ten Hag anyway, it wouldn't be too different.
Feel like him playing wing-back could detract from the things he does best and it does require a lot of defensive work. Until he can go and get an orthodox LWB I can see him persisting with Mazraoui and Dalot
Without any additions I think he may lean on the durability of Dalot and Mazraoui. It’s such a demanding position in his system I wonder with Shaw’s injury history if he’s trusted there. Would also provide some pace in a back 3. Just a thought
I would think Mazraoui is intended for the role as right wing-back and I don’t think Dalot is up to the required level. And doesn’t Amorim prefer to have a left-footed player as the left wing-back? Totally agree that Shaw can’t be trusted, we’ve seen that for 10 years now.
Just feel like with his propensity for hamstring injuries it would be such a risk to put that workload on him. But if he can stay fit Shaw is obviously a good option there. Just think pace in the LCB and RCB roles is important
Would be a smart move👏
Playing the Wingback demands a LOT of running!
With the historic of injuries, it may be considered to protect Shaw by playing in the back line. Against low defending opponents, he will have opportunities to dictate the play offensively
